YeoJin (Hangul: 여진)[3] is the fourth revealed member of LOONA as well as the maknae (youngest).

She was born as Im Yeo-jin (Hangul: 임여진) on November 11, 2002, in Suseong District, Daegu, South Korea.

She debuted on January 4, 2017 as a member and subsequently released her solo single album YeoJin on January 16, 2017.


Early life (2002–2016)

YeoJin was born on November 11, 2002, as the only child of her parents. She attended several schools during her childhood, including Seoul Changkyung Elementary School, Daegu Yongkye Elementary School, Dukhwa Middle School, Hansung Girls’ Middle School, Jeonghwa Girls’ Commercial High School, and finally School of Performing Arts Seoul, from which she is expected to graduate in 2021.

YeoJin was a student at Five Music & Dance Academy in Daegu, South Korea in mid-2016, performing dance covers of I.O.I’s “Pick Me” and Jessie J’s “Bang Bang”.[4][5]

YeoJin auditioned for BlockBerryCreative at the same time as HaSeul and Choerry. She auditioned with the songs “Into the New World” by Girls’ Generation and “Dolls” by 9Muses.

2017: Reveal, solo debut, Everyday I Love You, Woomanna, Love Cherry Motion

On December 30th, the third “Who’s Next Girl?” teaser was released, and YeoJin was revealed as the fourth member of LOONA on 4th January. She released her solo single album YeoJin on January 16, and subsequently debuted as a member of LOONA. YeoJin is the only member whose pre-debut single album contains more than two songs, and the only member to include a song not featuring herself on her debut single. The MVs for the side tracks, My Sunday, featuring HeeJin and HyunJin and My Melody, featuring herself and HaSeul, were released on the 17th and 18th respectively.

On April 16, YeoJin made a cameo in the music video for ViVi's "Everyday I Love You" alongside HeeJin, HyunJin and HaSeul.

From June 30 to July 23, YeoJin starred in the first season of the web drama Woomanna in a minor role. She returned for the second season from August 23 to September 13 in a minor role.

On July 28, she made a cameo in the music video for Choerry's "Love Cherry Motion" alongside HaSeul, Kim Lip, and JinSoul.

2018: School graduation, debut in LOONA

YeoJin graduated from Hansung Girls’ Middle School on February 8, 2018.[6]

On August 9, YeoJin's teaser for LOONA's debut was released. She was the third member to be teased. In subsequent days, more teasers of the full group were released, as well as half-group teasers, where YeoJin was part of the 'Line unit'.

On August 20, YeoJin officially debuted as the maknae of the completed group LOONA. She and her members released their mini-album [+ +], along with the title track “Hi High”.

2019: First comeback, injury

On February 9, YeoJin's teaser for LOONA's first comeback was released. She was the ninth member to be teased. Later, on February 19, LOONA released the X X album, along with title track "Butterfly".

On February 16, LOONA held a concert titled LOONAVERSE, during which they performed tracks from [X X]. During the intro of “favOriTe”, while members were lying in the dark on stage, YeoJin accidentally stepped on Yves, breaking the latter’s nose and injuring her own ankle.[7] YeoJin and Yves were unable to dance for the rest of the concert, although both provided vocals. YeoJin and Yves promoted with the rest of LOONA for the entirety of the “Butterfly” comeback; however, YeoJin could be seen with a cast on her leg as late as May 2019.

2020: #

On January 18, YeoJin's teaser for LOONA's second comeback was released. She was the last member to be released. Another teaser was released on January 17. Later, on February 5, LOONA released the mini-album #, along with the title track "So What". On October, her teasers for their third mini album, 12:00 were released, and on October 19, the mini album, was released, along with the MV for the title track, Why Not?. On November 18th, the music video for Star, a side track on the same album and the english version of voice. This was the first English version of a Korean song that Yeojin participated in and LOONA's second english song overall, along with LOONATIC (English Version) by ODD EYE CIRCLE.

2021: SOPA graduation, &

In January, Yeojin graduated from Seoul School of Performing Arts. The 1st of June, the first teaser of their fourth mini-album [&] was released. The album is set to be released the 28th of the same month.
