“Virtual Angel” (Hangul: 버추얼 엔젤) is the second and title track from ARTMS’s debut full-length album <Dall>.

The song was originally titled “Eden”.^[2]

Description[]

For the title track “Virtual Angel”, EL CAPITXN and Vendors, who have made songs such as “Generation” and “Girls Never Die” for the junior MODHAUS group tripleS, joined forces for ARTMS. Against a backdrop of Eurodance with Y2K sensibilities, piling on a holy vibe that one might hear ring out in a church, a dance track with a never-before-heard new feeling was created.

The idea of virtual presence and the development of AI are now coming into reality. A question is asked through this song: perhaps the entities known as idols, which we have consumed through TVs and phones, were virtual this entire time? From the perspective of others, the emotions of love and relationship towards idols may not constitute a true relationship, but between idol and fan, perhaps that emotion was wholly love. ARTMS sings that emotions formed over the screen can be real, not just virtual.^[3]

d!g!ped!, who has been building a world view since LOONA, directed the music video and captured the stories of ARTMS and its fans.

타이틀 곡 “Virtual Angel”은 모드하우스의 후배그룹 트리플에스의 “Generation”, “Girls Never Die” 등을 만들었던 EL CAPITXN과 Vendors가 ARTMS를 위해 힘을 모았다. Y2K 감성의 유로 댄스를 바탕으로 성당에서 울려 퍼질 법한 성스러운 바이브를 쌓아 올리며 그동안 들어보지 못했던 새로운 느낌의 댄스곡을 완성했다.

AI의 발전과 Virtual의 존재가 현실로 다가온 지금. 사실은 그동안 TV와 핸드폰을 통해 우리가 소비해 오고 있는 아이돌이라는 존재가 Virtual이 아니었는지 이 곡을 통해 묻는다. 아이돌을 향한 사랑과 연애의 감정이 타인의 시선으로는 실제 연애가 아닐지 모르지만, 아이돌과 팬과의 사이에는 그 감정은 오롯이 사랑이 아니었을까. 화면을 넘어 생겨나는 감정이 가상이 아닌 실제일 수 있다고 ARTMS는 노래한다.

이달의 소녀 때부터 세계관 구축을 함께했던 d!g!ped!가 뮤직비디오를 연출하며 ARTMS와 그 팬들의 이야기를 영상에 담았다.^[4]
