<Version Up> is the second mini-album by ODD EYE CIRCLE, LOONA’s second sub-unit consisting of the members Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry. It was released on July 12, 2023, under their new company MODHAUS.

It is the first release by the LOONA members (excluding Chuu) following the successful termination of their contracts from BlockBerryCreative in January 2023. This release marks ODD EYE CIRCLE's first release in 6 years.

The physical album comes in three versions: Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry.

Description[]

“If fate exists, would you tell me about it? Which orbit are we heading towards? If it's unfathomable, would you follow along the path we create?”

Five girls, like a perfectly fitting puzzle, stood at a new beginning naming themselves, ARTMS. Initially, ARTMS was the name of the program to reach an orbit, but fate intertwined the girls with the name. As a gathering of girls who could shine brighter together while pursuing independent solo activities, ARTMS silently and secretly prepared for something new.

Their first project was to reboot ODD EYE CIRCLE.

Starting with the girls' independent music, “Girl Front”, they had previously dominated the most unique style in K-pop history. Now, they gathered once again to prepare an album.[1][2]

“운명이 있다면 들려줄래? 우리가 어떤 궤도를 향해 가고 있는지. 아무도 알 수 없는 거라면 우리가 만드는 길로 따라와줄래?”

퍼즐처럼 맞춰진 다섯명의 소녀들이 새로운 출발선에 섰고 ARTMS라는 이름을 내걸었다. 처음 ARTMS는 그룹 이름이 아닌 궤도로 가기 위한 프로그램의 이름이었지만 운명처럼 ARTMS로 결속되어 갔다. 희진, 하슬, 김립, 진솔, 최리까지 각자 독립적인 솔로 활동을 할 수 있으면서도 합쳐지면 더 빛이 날 수 있는 소녀들이 모여 만든 ARTMS라는 집단은 조용히 그리고 비밀스럽게 새로운 준비들을 해 나갔다.

첫 번째 프로젝트는 ODD EYE CIRCLE을 재가동하는 일.

“Girl Front”라는 소녀들의 주체적인 음악으로 시작해 K-POP 역사상 가장 유니크한 스타일을 선점했던 소녀들이 다시 모여 앨범을 준비하기 시작했고.[1][2]

History[]

On June 15, the first teaser picture for JinSoul was released. Further individual teaser pictures were released the following days. On June 26, the first group teaser picture was released, with the next two being released the following days.[3]

On June 28, pre-orders for the mini album were opened.[4][5][6] On June 29, the first teaser video titled “기다렸어 (Did You Wait?)” was released.[7]

On July 3, the fourth group teaser picture was posted, showcasing the members in a completely new concept.[8] On July 4, the first teaser for the “Air Force One” music video was released.[9]

On July 5, the tracklist for the mini album was revealed. “Air Force One” was announced as the title track, with the previously shown teaser video “기다렸어 (Did You Wait?)” serving as the intro. On July 9, a highlight medley for the EP was released.

On July 11, the final D-1 solo teasers with members’ messages were released.

On July 12, the music video for “Air Force One” was released. Later that day, at 6PM KST, the mini-album was released on streaming platforms. At 8PM KST, a showcase was held, where ODD EYE CIRCLE performed their new songs “Air Force One” and “Je Ne Sais Quoi”, as well as their older songs such as “Sweet Crazy Love” or “LOONATIC (English Version)”.

  • The intro track, “Did You Wait?”, contains snippets of the beginning of “Sweet Crazy Love”, the middle of “LOONATIC” and the ending of “Uncover”, all previously released ODD EYE CIRCLE tracks under BlockBerryCreative.
  • <Version Up> has sold 52,091 copies on Hanteo in the first week, breaking the sub-unit’s previous record of 5,745 copies with Mix & Match.[11]
  • The EP debuted at #1 on the iTunes Worldwide and European album charts. It also was at the top in 27 countries.
