The LOOΠΔVERSE is the fictional universe the members of LOONA live in. It is depicted through their music videos and teasers. Its existence was officially announced on April 26, 2017, but was given its name on May 22 of the same year.
Since the lore of the LOONAVERSE can be interpreted in many different ways, many Orbits have begun to theorize what the music videos entail, and how each member's story intertwines with each other. This part of the article covers the biggest and most popular theories on the LOONA music videos and the timeline of events in the LOONAVERSE.
The LOONAVERSE is a universe that exists on a möbius strip. The members of LOONA 1/3 reside on earth and portray realistic girls that can be found on streets or at schools. ODD EYE CIRCLE lives between earth and space, aka the middle earth. They display changing and mutative characteristics while suggesting love should be taken control of instead of being passive. Lastly, yyxy inhabit a 'utopia', known as 'Edenism', beyond earth and the middle earth. They decide to escape their 'Eden' in order to discover themselves.

There is no official timeline of the LOONAVERSE that Blockberry Creative has confirmed, but instead we are given clues through member reveals, music videos, and teasers about the sequence of events in this world. Many different people have begun to theorize what events in the LOONAVERSE impacted what, and how every bit of lore fits together.
According to Twinfish, creator of the most popular and thorough LOONAVERSE theory, the order in which each LOONA member was released was not a mistake, and is the timeline of events in the LOONAVERSE. ("There are no simultaneous happenings. Aside from the two Carols, everything is happening like a domino effect. When one thing happens it triggers another addition to the LOONAVERSE.")
ViViD → Around You → I'll Be There → Let Me In → The Carol → Kiss Later → Love & Live → Everyday I Love You → Sonatine → Everyday I Love You → ViVi's Letter to Hong Kong → Sweet Crazy Love → Eclipse → Singing in the Rain → Love Cherry Motion → "Reveal" Teaser → Girl Front → LOONATIC → Love & Live Remix → Starlight VCR → New → Heart Attack → See Saw → One & Only → Egoist → Love4eva → ONE (Cinema Theory Busan)
Croissant de LOONA's TimelineEdit
Croissant de LOONA is a theorist who helped to break down Bragen's Color Theory, which has become the foundation of most popular LOONAVERSE lore theories. Their timeline bases less on the occurrences during the music videos and more on a specific order of events that happen outside of the videos that we are given clues on during the videos themselves.
(Creation of Heejin) → ViViD → (Creation of ViVi, Yves, Olivia Hye) → Egoist → (Creation of Kim Lip, JinSoul, Hyunjin) → Eclipse → Singing in the Rain → (Creation of Go Won, Chuu) → Around You → (Creation of Choerry) → Love Cherry Motion → Girl Front → (Creation of Yeojin and Haseul) → Egoist → Love & Live
Caskerbox is a popular animator and Orbit on Youtube, who created a Cinema Map of the majority of the LOONAVERSE in great detail. Though their map is unfinished, this is what the beginning of their timeline looks like. Their timeline bases mostly on location, especially during the 1/3 era, in which each member have representative locations in which their music videos take place in.
ViViD → Around You → I'll Be There → Let Me In → The Carol → Kiss Later → My Melody → My Sunday → Love & Live → You and Me Together → Everyday I Love You → Sonatine → Rain 51Db → Everyday I Need You → Eclipse → Singing in the Rain → Love Cherry Motion → Odd Eye Circle Reveal Teaser
Erica T's TimelineEdit
Erica T is a Youtuber who does piano covers, album unboxings, and the occasional LOONA theory video. Her timeline is a very unique take on the LOONAVERSE, starting out with the ODD EYE CIRCLE and ending with Egoist, contrary to most theorists who believe that events take place in order of reveal/release of music videos. Her timeline is also interesting since it has events overlapping each other and occurring at the same time with parallel universes, unlike other theories which coincide more with a "domino effect".
- Universe 1: My Melody → Let Me In → I'll Be There → The Carol → Everyday I Love You → Love & Live → Sonatine → Around You
- Universe 2: Sweet Crazy Love → Eclipse/Love Cherry Motion/Singing in the Rain → Girl Front/LOONATIC → New → The Carol 2.0 → Love4eva/Heart Attack/One & Only/Egoist/ViViD

Music Videos's AnalysisEdit
Almost all of LOONA's pre-debut music videos have some importance to the lore of the LOONAVERSE. Since everything is up to interpretation, each music video will be broken down by the most popular orbit theorists.
The music video for ViViD starts out in black and white, without color. In the first few seconds the music video creates the effect of an eye opening, almost like HeeJin is opening her eyes for the first time. This symbolism shows that the universe starts with her, and what she sees is a black and white canvas.
We then see dialogue between the HeeJin in the yellow outfit and the HeeJin in the black outfit.
JustLoona is a reddit user whose analysis focuses more on the lyrics and less on the music video itself. Though their theory was posted recently, it is very thorough and will be summarized in this part of the article.
Croissant de LOONA's AnalysisEdit
Let Me InEdit
As theorized by Twinfish, the yellow truck that takes HaSeul to the arctic is HyunJin's color, which represents HyunJin bringing HaSeul to the tundra after HeeJin creates the color green. This means that HeeJin and HyunJin are working together to help HaSeul understand her place in the LOONAVERSE as the keeper of green. As we see when the truck stops, the door opens for HaSeul, who doesn't look excited to leave the warmth of the truck. This represents HyunJin opening the door for HaSeul and pushing her out into the cold, in order for her to discover herself and grow. And since HaSeul has arrived in an icy, cold dull place without color, its obvious that HeeJin's colors have yet to spread to this part of the LOONAVERSE and so therefore HaSeul is standing at the edge of the LOONAVERSE, which she must expand and fill with her color, green.
We can assume that the entire LOONAVERSE looked like this before HeeJin brought color, a bleak, dull, cold place. It also represents HaSeul's heart, which is an iced over and uncomfortable, lonely place. Which is why HaSeul is forced to be in the icy tundra, in order for her to find herself and melt the ice.

Members Roles in the LOONAVERSEEdit
Each member of LOONA plays a character in the LOONAVERSE by the same name. These are descriptions of each member and how they impact the LOONAVERSE based on the internet's most popular LOONAVERSE theorists.
Most theorists agree that HeeJin is the creator, or the god of the LOONAVERSE.
This can be acquainted to the fact that she is the first member of LOONA to awake in the LOONAVERSE, or to the lyrics of ViViD as described above. Many believe that her ambition in life is to paint the LOONAVERSE in color, in which she enlists the help of her other members. It has also been theorized by reddit user LueLinks402 that HeeJin isn't a god of the LOONAVERSE, but instead "Maybe more like a 'demigod' or a mythical figure similar to the heroes from Greek mythology. I think all the members of Loona have some kind of special power or important role, but only when they are all together can their powers combined be considered truly 'godlike.'"
HeeJin has many relationships with the members of LOONA throughout the music videos.
- The first one we are shown is her friendship with HyunJin, are told that they met in school and are in the same grade, as explained in the description of Love & Live.
- We also see HeeJin feel sympathetic towards ViVi in the music video for Love & Live, and as explained by twinfish, ViVi is HeeJin's loyal friend, and acts as the angel on her shoulder, and carries out tasks for her. So for ViVi to be struggling with her life as a Cyborg hurts HeeJin, as she feels sympathy for ViVi.
- The next relationship we see through the music videos is HeeJin's relationship to JinSoul, which (as explained by Birbfriend and twinfish for Singing in the Rain) represents HeeJin helping JinSoul to awake in the LOONAVERSE, meaning she acts almost like a guide for JinSoul, who is choosing which universe she wants to "release her fish" into.
- The next and final relationship we see is that between Olivia and HeeJin. In the final moments of the Egoist music video, we see the first girl to be revealed (HeeJin) and the final girl to be revealed (Olivia) meet. We are not sure what their feelings are towards each other, some suspect sympathy from HeeJin for how Olivia is treated by yyxy, others think its the "final battle" between good and evil, or between the ruler of this world and the fallen angel (more of this idea is explained under § Religious and Mythological References). But what we do know is that HeeJin has traveled a long way from the 1/3 world to the yyxy world in order to specifically meet Olivia, for reasons unknown.
HyunJin is a member of the sub-unit 1/3, but there are several theories that she was originally a member of the ODD EYE CIRCLE.
This is due to the fact that according to the Color Theory below, the ODD EYE CIRCLE would make up the primary colors; yellow (HyunJin), blue (JinSoul), and red (Kim Lip). Somehow she left the ODD EYE CIRCLE plane, and joined 1/3 (planes are explained down below under "Other Lore"). She is crucial to the LOONAVERSE as she is one of the three primary colors, and it is impossible to make any color without the primary colors.
- The first relationship we see in the LOONAVERSE is HyunJin's relationship with HeeJin. As twinfish theorizes in Around You, even before we see the two of them meet HyunJin is sending a letter to HeeJin, and we later see HeeJin and HyunJin meet in the music video for I'll Be There, which we are later told in the description for Love & Live that HeeJin and HyunJin met in school, and were in the same grade.
- The second relationship we see is HyunJin's relationship with HaSeul. As twinfish theorizes, the yellow truck in the music video for Let Me In represents HyunJin, who brought HaSeul to the icy tundra in order for her to face her fears and decide who she truly is.
- The next and probably the most complex relationship we see is HyunJin's relationship with Choerry. This is one of the most popular theories to-date, and one that helps to shape the LOONAVERSE itself. As described, we know that originally ODD EYE CIRCLE was the primary colors, Yellow, Blue, and Red. We also know that HyunJin must've left the ODD EYE CIRCLE, in order to (most likely) be with her long-time friend HeeJin in 1/3. As a result, Kim Lip and JinSoul had to create a replacement, by combining their colors to create Choerry. This means that Choerry and HyunJin mirror each other, and are connected. We see teasers for this throughout the LOONAVERSE, with HaSeul and YeoJin in Love Choerry Motion, to HyunJin's appearance in Girl Front, even with the teasers for HyunJin's single and for Choerry's single, their teasers are the same, just flipped. We also see this with the color theory (as described below) since yellow and purple are complimentary colors. (More on HyunJin and Choerry's relationship is under Love Cherry Motion and Girl Front.)
HaSeul represents the white dove, and in the LOONAVERSE, she must choose between peace and harmony or truth.
As theorized, since HaSeul represents the white dove, a symbol of peace, she must choose between peace and harmony or learning the truth about the LOONAVERSE and gaining knowledge. (As explained above in the Let Me In) HaSeul chooses truth, and decides to kill the white dove, or kill the peace. As a result, she looses YeoJin, her close friend when YeoJin gets lost in the forest. As see in the description of Singing in the Rain, "HaSeul, who always seems to cause rain wherever she goes" this could suggest her sadness towards losing YeoJin, who was like a daughter to her.
- The first relationship we see is HaSeul's relationship with HyunJin. In Let Me In, as described by twinfish, the yellow truck represents HyunJin, who has brought HaSeul to Iceland for her to discover herself. HaSeul looks bored or tired in the truck, suggesting she doesn't want to do this, and possibly HyunJin is forcing her to do this. This shows a similar relationship a parent would have with a child, since HyunJin is pushing HaSeul to do something she doesn't want to, and shows HyunJin's control over HaSeul.
- The second relationship we see is HaSeul's relationship with YeoJin, and as described by Blockberry Creative, "HaSeul is a warm friend who is like a mother to YeoJin", which we can see in the music video for My Melody. We then learn that the reason YeoJin isn't present in Love & Live is due to the fact that she's lost in the forest, and therefore represents the slash in 1/3. This is most likely due to HaSeul choosing truth over peace, and therefore losing the person who brought her peace and happiness, YeoJin.
- The third relationship we see is between HaSeul and Chuu. This one is very unexpected, since HaSeul and Chuu are in completely different worlds, with Chuu in yyxy and HaSeul in 1/3. But what we do know is that HaSeul wakes Chuu, who doesn't even see her, and HaSeul gives her a knowing look before walking away. This could suggest HaSeul seeing Chuu's love for Yves as being childish in a way, and that she had experienced the same feelings when she was younger, and understands that its a part of Chuu's child-like personality. (More of their relationship is explained in Heart Attack)
YeoJin is considered the hidden member of 1/3, with her single being released during the introductions to 1/3, and yet she isn't seen in Love & Live nor in any of the promotions for 1/3.
As explained in the description of the 1/3 music videos, YeoJin is lost in the forest, and therefor isn't present in 1/3. While she does appear in Everyday I Love You, most theorists agree that this music video is a dream (as explained above) and the events during the video didn't actually occur, therefore YeoJin isn't actually there.
- The first realtionship we see is HyunJin's relationship with YeoJin. As theorized by twinfish in The Carol and in Kiss Later, HyunJin buys a present for YeoJin to welcome her into the LOONAVERSE as the orange girl HeeJin has been looking for.
- YeoJin also has a relationship with HaSeul, as stated by Blockberry Creative, she views HaSeul as a motherly figure, and therefore HaSeul is like family to her.
- The most important relationship we see is YeoJin's relationship with the frog in Kiss Later. As theorized by both Cherry and Twinfish, the frog in this music video represents Choerry, who is trying to get her to sin by kissing the frog. Twinfish never gives an explanation for this, but Cherry believes this is due to Choerry doing Yves' dirty work, and as explained in Yves' part of this article, she wants the members of LOONA to join her in sinning and going against HeeJin. In the end YeoJin chooses not to kiss Choerry, and therefore doesn't sin.
ViVi is one of the purest members of the LOONAVERSE, with her representing light and love.
Both ViVi's color, light pink, and her animal, the deer, suggest an innocent character. Light pink is a mixture of white and pink, showing her relation to HeeJin with pink, and white showing her angelic presence. Her animal the deer is also known as a symbol of purity, gentleness, and softness. We can see her as an angel in the LOONAVERSE, whose purpose is to serve HeeJin as an advisor (More of this idea is explored under § Mythological and Religious References). But her main weakness is being to trustworthy, like in the case of Yves.
As we know, Yves represents cunning and deception in the LOONAVERSE, and is a combination of the most destructive traits of Olivia and HeeJin. We see this in the music video for new, when Yves lures ViVi into a date with her, who is none the wiser to her intentions. We see this backfiring for ViVi, when she is killed by either Olivia or Yves. Though the killer of ViVi is a highly debated topic, we are certain that she is killed due to falling prey to one of the yyxy girls, and is therefore brought back to life as a cyborg, who must live out the rest of her days being dependent on technology in order to survive (We see this in Love&Live).
Kim Lip is one of the primary colors in the LOONAVERSE, and therefore plays an important part in the creation of this world.
Kim Lip's animal, the owl, represents wisdom and knowledge, which we can also see as her role of leader of ODD EYE CIRCLE. We can also assume that this means she is the leader of the primary colors, and therefore has some control over the other members of OEC. But as we see with both JinSoul and Choerry, who go against HeeJin's wish and interact with yyxy, the "dark" side of the mobius strip, which is exactly what their creator, HeeJin, doesn't want.
We also know that as the leader of ODD EYE CIRCLE, that HeeJin must've entrusted Kim Lip with watching over her other members, since HeeJin is on another plane of the LOONAVERSE and therefore can't do it herself. But Kim Lip must know that the girls she's in charge of interact with yyxy, meaning she is willing to go against HeeJin in a subtle way, by allowing her members to stray away from their god, or their creator, without telling HeeJin. But Kim Lip must still have some loyalty to HeeJin, since she doesn't join her other members, but doesn't tell HeeJin either.
JinSoul is an interesting member of the LOONAVERSE, since she is of course a primary color. But she also has connections across the LOONAVERSE, and her lore and role may be deeper than we think.
JinSoul represents the color blue with her song Singing in the Rain, and also infamously appears in the Everyday I Need You music video. As theorized by Twinfish, JinSoul's color is a mixture of blue and black, suggesting she's been tainted by Olivia, and that her color once was pure blue (More of this idea is explained in Sweet Crazy Love). We see JinSoul with Olivia in Egoist, which shows that JinSoul must be disobeying HeeJin and helping Olivia, however that may be.
Choerry is a member of the ODD EYE CIRCLE. Following the theory of HyunJin's backstory, Choerry is the creation of Kim Lip and JinSoul in HyunJin's place.
Choerry is one of the most unique members of LOONA, since her unique superpower is the ability to switch planes. It is theorized that this means that she can visit the 1/3 world or the yyxy world as she pleases, which makes sense since she is seen throughout the LOONA music videos, in Kiss Later and in One&Only (as explained above).
Yves is one of the most major characters in the LOONAVERSE. She is the first to awaken as part of yyxy, and is believed, by many, to be trying to lure everyone in the LOONAVERSE to go against HeeJin and sin.
The first big indicator of this is Yves' color. She is burgundy, which is a mix of pink and black. And as explained by twinfish, shows that she is part HeeJin and part Olivia, and therefore has qualities of both. She probably wants to be a creator like HeeJin, but wants destruction and chaos like Olivia, showing that even though Olivia is the fallen angel, Yves may be an even more powerful version of Olivia. It is assumed that Olivia created yyxy to mirror 1/3, and as we see in Egoist according to Twinfish, Yves betrays Olivia, wanting more power than her. (More of this is explained in Egoist). We see Yves influencing many members of the LOONAVERSE, including ViVi, Choerry, Chuu, Go Won, Olivia, HyunJin, and YeoJin.
As stated by BlockBerry Creative, Olivia Hye is meant to represent destruction and chaos, which can also be confirmed by her representative color, silver. Unlike the rest of the representative colors, silver is on a grayscale, while the rest of the members' colors are on a color wheel.
As theorized by many, Olivia Hye is a fallen angel, meaning her color was once bright and colorful, but somehow became tainted and was outcasted, similar to Lucifer, a fallen angel in the new testament (More of this idea is explored under § Religious and Mythological References). And with HeeJin representing the creator of the universe, this would mean they are on two opposite sides of the same coin, like light and day.
Many believe HeeJin created Olivia originally with good intentions, but somehow Olivia defied this. Another idea is that HeeJin created Olivia subconsciously, and Olivia represents HeeJin's fears and anxieties surrounding the LOONAVERSE.
As theorized by twinfish, Olivia could've created yyxy as a mirror to 1/3, which can be confirmed with Daebak Jjang's Reverse Order Theory (as described in-depth below). We also see Olivia being outcasted out of yyxy, which could show her wish to become part of 1/3, and leave yyxy, almost like she didn't choose this life. It could also show that yyxy are defying her by trying to leave Eden, while she wishes they could live in Eden together in harmony, similar to 1/3 on Earth. We also see Olivia's built up hatred and emotions in Egoist, showing her loving herself and forgetting about the others. She feels hurt and betrayed, and sick and tired of being pushed around by yyxy, and decides to defy them. (More of Olivia's relationship with yyxy is explored in Egoist and love4eva)
Sub-Units Roles in the LOONAVERSEEdit
Each subunit has an interesting dynamic within their group, and each possesses unique traits that defy themselves from the others.
1/3 is the first sub unit, with four official members, and one unofficial member. Thye live on earth, and form the structure for the rest of the LOONAVERSE.
ODD EYE CIRCLE are between light and darkness, and therefore interact with both. HeeJin created the three girls to watch over the LOONAVERSE together, and yet they defy her, first with JinSoul in Sweet Crazy Love, when Olivia talks to her. Later Choerry is lured by Yves into doing her bidding, and even though Kim Lip is unaffected by the darkness, she is still complicit, as she is the leader of OEC and os aware of their actions, yet doesn't tell HeeJin.
Other than the Music Videos, Teasers, and Cinema Theories, there are some other pieces of the lore that Blockberry Creative has scattered throughout the internet for Orbits to find.
The Möbius Strip TheoryEdit
The Möbius strip is a single plane that is folded so that one side of the plane connects with the opposite side, creating a shape that is both fluid and infinite. The first time the möbius strip is mentioned in the LOONAVERSE is on the dlrowehtanool website, while the members of yyxy were being introduced, along with the Eden DNA (more information about dlrowehtanool can be found below.)
A single gif of a möbius strip was available on the website, with the LOONA logo in the center of it. This gif immediately went viral, and many speculate that this means the Universe the loona members are in is the shape of a möbius strip.
This also created the idea that there is more to the LOONAVERSE than meets the eye. The möbius strip is also considered to be the most important part of the LOONAVERSE, as Kim Lip said in an interview with DAZED.
The Color TheoryEdit
On March 22, 2018, the amino user danielllcrush posted their theory on how the representative colors of the LOONA members intertwined, and how using a color wheel we can see the connections between them.
Just a month later on April 15, 2019, the user bragen on the reddit r/LOONA created a post expanding on this idea, by incoorporating the music videos and the möbius strip. This theory has become the basis of most LOONA theories, and will be broken down in this part of the article.
The Three Planes of the LOONAVERSEEdit
Each sub-unit of LOONA lives in a "plane" of the LOONAVERSE. These are essentially different dimensions within the universe, and are also the three planes of the möbius strip (As discussed above).
The first plane is titled "earth" and is where 1/3 is located. This can also be seen from the fact that each member represents a different part of the world, with HeeJin in Paris, HyunJin in Japan, HaSeul in Iceland, and ViVi in Hong Kong. Most people consider them to be at the bottom of the LOONAVERSE, since they are the foundation for the rest of LOONA. Many believe that they also represent the light, or the pure side of the möbius strip. The second plane, or the middle plane is where ODD EYE CIRCLE live, and is commonly called the "middle plane", "middle earth", or even "the cosmos". Each of them have superpowers, with Kim Lip's super speed, JinSoul's teleportation, and Choerry's "plane switching". In Choerry's case, this means that she can travel between the dimensions of the LOONAVERSE, using mirrors (as seen in Love Cherry Motion). There have also been theories that JinSoul can travel between dimensions as well, since her ability is teleportation, and she is seen in the 1/3 and yyxy planes. It is believed that since they are in the middle of the three worlds, they are neither light nor dark, but inbetween.
The third and final plane is the plane yyxy inhabits, titled "Edenism", or simply, "Eden". Each member of yyxy has a representative fruit and a complex relationship with the other members of their subunit, as explained above. They are also considered to be the dark side of the möbius strip, and (as mentioned in the analysis of the love4eva music video) eat their fruit to gain enlightenment, and fall from Eden. (More of this topic is discussed under Religious and Mythological References.) Some believe that since Eden is at the highest point in the LOONAVERSE they have the most knowledge about the other planes and the other members, but this has yet to be confirmed.
Religious and Mythological ReferencesEdit
In preparation for Yves' debut, the official loonatheworld twitter account began posting teasers for the debut of Yves, the first member of yyxy. But instead of the normal teaser, fans noticed that the link http://www.loonatheworld.com/ on the teasers was spelled backwards, http://dlrowehtanool.com/. The official LOONA twitter account continued to release teasers with the website spelled backwards for all the members of yyxy, with four teasers having the http://dlrowehtanool.com/ shown and four teasers with the regular http://www.loonatheworld.com/ for each member. Fans also noticed that the teasers with the loonatheworld link were more innocent, while the teasers with dlrowehtanool were much more mature and were also featured in the teasers where there was more than one member present.
In the case of Yves, the teasers that link to loonatheworld look similar to teasers from other LOONA members, with one of the teasers depicting her in the yyxy uniform. When we look at the dlrowehtanool teasers, we see that in every one of those pictures she is dressed as her representative animal, the swan.
With Chuu, we see that in her loonatheworld teasers she is smiling and fits her cute concept. But in the dlrowehtanool teasers, she's either with Yves, or looks very serious and has darker lighting than in her "regular" teasers.
The interesting thing about GoWon is that she has three loonatheworld teasers and six dlrowehtanool teasers; four by herself and two with Chuu. In the case of her teasers, the most obvious difference between the two is her hair color, since in the regular teasers she has her natural black hair and in the dlrowehtanool teasers she's blonde.
Olivia Hye is probably the most different from her other members, since her only dlrowehtanool teasers are with Go Won.
The Eden DNAEdit
When fans visited the http://dlrowehtanool.com/ site during the yyxy members' promotions, the website appeared to be nothing more than a gif of a spinning DNA strand, with the title "mobius" as the name of the page.
This further confirms the theory that the möbius strip is an important part of the LOONAVERSE. Fans have begun to call this gif the "Eden DNA" since yyxy's concept is new DNA, and their location is Eden.
Even though yyxy has said themselves that their concept is new DNA, the term "yyxy" refers to the chromosomes that determine an organisms' sex, while the Eden DNA is a strand of DNA, that would make up these chromosomes. It's also important to note that DNA is made up of four parts, adenine, guanine, thymine, and cytosine. Each compliments each other, with adenine pairing with thymine and guanine pairing with cytosine (see diagram below). Could this represent the four members of yyxy? Then who would compliment who, and what is the purpose of this website?
Birbfriend theorizes that the names of the members are the key to which members of yyxy represent which parts of the DNA. "Commonly when talking about DNA, the four nitrogen bases are shortened to abrvieating letters in order to simplify a long and complicated DNA strand. They are shortened into A, G, C, and T." According to her, based on the members' names, the nucleotides would represent as follows:
- G - GoWon
- C - Chuu
- A - Olivia (She believes that this is due to the fact that Olivia is the only member of yyxy with a name that has an A in it)
- T - Yves ("This is a bit of a stretch, but since Thymine has a y in it, and Yves starts with a Y, she would represent the Thymine")
A user by the name of missdesudesu on tumblr managed to pull 12 colors out of the Eden DNA. Though they did not expand on this idea, Birbfriend interpreted the 12 colors as the representative colors of the LOONA members, as shown below.
Reddit user Bragen (aka loonaretheworld) took the idea of the connection between yyxy's chromosome and the Eden DNA a step further with their hypothesis.
Reverse Order TheoryEdit
Daebak Jjang was the first ever Orbit to suggest the Reverse Order Theory, which is the theory that if you take the four members of yyxy and three members of 1/3 (plus YeoJin) with the members of yyxy backwards, you are given two parallel lines, each with four members.
The Mirrored Girls (Counterparts)Edit
As part of the Reverse Order Theory, every member of the LOONAVERSE has a counterpart, but only a select few are truly mirrored, these being the members of yyxy and LOONA 1/3.
If we look at Chuu and YeoJin, they share many similarities. Both represent child-like characters, that struggle with the aspect of love. We can see that Yves was trying to create Chuu to be a copy of YeoJin for yyxy, but due to them being on different planes of the same universe, with Chuu being on the darker side and YeoJin on the lighter, we see that YeoJin is truly a more child-like character, while Chuu is a replica with a sinister twist. Even though Chuu may be oblivious to it, Yves uses her like a pawn in order to do her bidding, while Chuu is under the impression that it is just Yves showing her love for Chuu. In the case of YeoJin, we see the other members of 1/3 caring for her in a motherly fashion, with HyunJin's gifts, HeeJin's love, and HaSeul's motherly touch.
The second main part of the mirrored girls are HaSeul and Go Won. Both members of LOONA struggle with a similar dilemma, having a cold icy heart and having to find themselves and give into love in order to truly become members of LOONA. In HaSeul's case, HyunJin pushes her to choose between peace or truth. She decides truth, and therefore loses YeoJin in the process. With Go Won, we see her trying to block out the members of yyxy, until she gives into their love, specifically Yves'. The interesting thing is that with both girls' situations, both Yves and HyunJin were coming from places of love and care, which differs drastically from the situation between their feelings for Chuu and YeoJin.
The Chess TheoryEdit
The Day and Night UnitsEdit
As seen based on the teasers, some of the members wear black clothing and some wear white, pointing to the idea of two opposing chess teams, one being the white unit and one being the black unit, or the day and the night.
LOONAVERSE Power StructureEdit
As shown through the music videos, not every member of the LOONAVERSE has the power or ambition that others do. This shows an imbalance of capabilities. Birbfriend has laid out this power structure as seen below.
Creator of LOONAVERSE, most powerful
HyunJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry
The guardians of the LOONAVERSE, aka the primary colors / ODD EYE CIRCLE (plus all four have powers)
Yves, Olivia Hye
Yves is the leader of yyxy and therefore has power, but requires Choerry for help. Olivia's position is debateable, but she has proven herself to have power.
ViVi, YeoJin, Go Won, Chuu
These are the members who are preyed on by Yves.
We can assume that Olivia and Yves are not powerful enough to takedown HeeJin on her own, and therefore requires the help of other girls in the LOONAVERSE.
In an interview with DAZED, JinSoul stated "I can tell you that this is not the end, rather just a beginning. There could be a new unit with different combinations, for example, HyunJin and I could be a new unit. This simple comment sheds a light on how the LOONAVERSE works, and in whole, the future of LOONA. As mentioned in § Religious and Mythological References, the idea of reincarnation, where people or creatures are born again once they die, their body stays on earth but their spirit or soul is given to a new creature.
With the idea LOONAbirth we could end up seeing a "LOONAdeath" and then a rebirth of the LOONA members into new subunits, new roles, new colors, and new animals. The LOONA we see now could look very different in a year's time. We could currently be in "Phase 1" of LOONA, with future phases and versions of LOONA to come. https://loonatheories.carrd.co/
