HeeYeon, JeeWon, HyunJin, HaEun, Semi. The five members have walked different paths, but they came to stand together with a singular heart towards music. Their time connect into one flow under the name of LATENCY.
Debut single “It Was Love (사랑이었는데)” is a medium-tempo track based on rock and metal, layering an emotional melody atop tough band sound. It expresses the regrets of youth and moments of growth through straight-speaking lyrics and energetic play, and members JeeWon and HaEun participated in lyric-writing to reflect the team’s story and mindset. As a pre-release track, the song definitively shows LATENCY’s color and direction.
“It Was Love (사랑이었는데)” is not about the end of love, but it instead speaks of how the love from fans and around them was the strength that helped them move towards dreams again.
“A story not about the end of love, but about how love raised me up again.”
It expresses the moment of renewal and maturation that came after despair, and the drum, guitar riffs, and vocal layers that heighten towards the end fiercely paint the cycle and explosion of emotions.[2]

희연, 지원, 현진, 하은, 세미. 다섯 멤버는 서로 다른 길을 지나왔지만, 음악을 향한 마음 하나로 함께 서게 되었다. 그 시간들이 LATENCY라는 이름 아래 하나의 흐름으로 이어진다.
데뷔 싱글 ‘사랑이었는데’는 록·메탈 기반의 미디엄 템포 곡으로, 강한 밴드 사운드 위에 감정적인 멜로디를 얹은 트랙이다.
청춘의 후회와 성장의 순간을 직설적인 가사와 에너지 있는 연주로 담아냈으며, 멤버 지원과 하은이 작사에 참여해 팀의 서사와 정서를 직접 반영했다.
이 곡은 레이턴시의 색깔과 방향성을 명확히 보여주는 선공개곡이다.
‘사랑이었는데’는 사랑의 끝을 말하는 노래가 아니라, 팬들과 주변에서 받은 사랑이 다시 꿈을 향해 나아가게 만든 힘이었음을 이야기한다.

절망 이후 찾아온 재생과 성숙의 순간을 음악적 흐름으로 표현했으며, 후반부로 갈수록 고조되는 드럼·기타 리프·보컬 레이어가 감정의 순환과 폭발을 강렬하게 그려낸다.[3]
