LOONA the Ballad, also known as La Maison LOONA, was a planned ballad album. This concept album was teased since the release of “one way” from yyxy’s beauty&thebeat, on May 30th, 2018.
Originally planned for May of 2019, its release was postponed. This delay was announced in a teaser published on May 31, 2019, titled “La Maison LOONA”, which previewed three songs. On May 30th, LOONA’s then–producer Jaden Jeong posted on his Instagram the same message in “La Maison LOONA” teaser: “Delayed but Someday”.[1]
On November 1, Jeong officially confirmed that the album had been scrapped by the company following his departure, due to a disagreement on the importance of the LOONAVERSE in future releases.[2]
On March 31, 2023, Jeong stated in the interview that he is open to the idea of releasing LOONA the Ballad as part of the ARTMS project. Stating that, he was told to give the songs to other groups to release, but wanted to keep the songs as a personal memory, but now due to the circumstances of some members under his company, he is open to the idea and “plans to release it at the right time”.[3]
On October 23, JinSoul revealed the album songs were never recorded and the members only recorded the teasers in a rush.[4]
